Collective housing is a fundamental topic in contemporary architecture, particularly in urban contexts. The residential block was analyzed as the object of study: a mid-rise, high-density building that enables reflections on the intersections between the tectonic and thermodynamic perspectives of architectural design, in constant tension with its integration into the city.
The discussions were structured around three major vectors that underpin architectural decisions: Tectonics: Technique and construction; structure and enclosure. Typology: Use, organization, and program. Topology: The site and its context.
These foundations emphasized ideological and programmatic simplicity, focusing on user comfort, structural economy, and construction logic. Furthermore, the design of flexible infrastructures was promoted, capable of adapting to future iterations and uses, fostering sustainability and the intelligent use of energy resources. These strategies also aimed to achieve urban integration, ensuring a more open and inclusive city.
